The words “Jets” and “perfect” do not normally go together, but that is exactly how to describe Gang Green’s opening drive against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

With rookie Zach Wilson sidelined with a knee injury, backup Mike White engineered a 14-play, 79-yard drive which was capped by an 8-yard touchdown run by Michael Carter to give the Jets an early 7-0 lead.

Why is this so significant?

It was the Jets’ first scoring drive in the first quarter of a game all season.

White completed all seven of his pass attempts for 55 yards while Carter rushed for 16 yards on two carries, including the touchdown and a third-and-4 conversion.

The drive left Jets fans and most of social media tuned into the game absolutely stunned as the Gang Green offense looked like a well-oiled machine early in a game for the first time this season, and doing it against a Bengals team that stifled the Ravens just a week ago.

The reaction on Twitter was about what you’d expect, with stunned fans and Halloween jokes.
