Cleveland, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Baker Mayfield had a busy Saturday.
First, he was busy throwing passes for the Browns at the team’s annual scrimmage at FirstEnergy Stadium before taking in the Indians-Angels game from a suite at Progressive Field.
In the fifth inning Mayfield noticed that he was being shown on the massive scoreboard, so he raised his beer to salute the fans and took a swig. Then he called for another can, which he caught and promptly bit into before chugging it with lightning speed.
He stood up, turned around and pointed with both thumbs extended at his Francisco Lindor jersey sending the crowd into a frenzy.
"I just don’t like the idea of my franchise quarterback spending time at a baseball game. I mean, what are you doing, @bakermayfield? You don’t see guys like Aaron Rodgers shotgunning beers. Just not a good look. Go watch some film." - @ColinCowherd (probably)Legend. pic.twitter.com/IUCW1Kp4s3
— Cleveland Indians (@Indians) August 4, 2019It electrified the ballpark and apparently the Indians too.
They promptly scored five runs on a two-run homer by Jason Kipnis then a three-run blast by Lindor.
You just can't make this stuff up.
The video posted by the Indians on their Twitter account went viral and had over a million views within an hour of the tweet.
