Berea, OH (92.3 The Fan) – Wednesday afternoon Baker Mayfield wasn’t feeling dangerous, and he had a very good reason as to why.

“I am feeling good right now,” Mayfield said. “It is not game day.”

Mayfield, who was caught by NFL Films during the Browns 28-16 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Nov. 11 telling his teammates he woke up feeling dangerous and then repeated it during his postgame press conference, explained that that wasn’t the first time he felt that way in the hours leading up to a game.

“I have said that always or for the past couple of years,” Mayfield said. “My family texts me on gameday. They ask me how I am feeling. That is the response. That is nothing new for me. That is just the first time I have said it in a press conference.”

Once Mayfield dropped “I woke up feeling pretty dangerous” after the win over the Falcons, friends, family, former teammates and coaches have now begun asking him regularly how he’s feeling.

“There is a couple of people who shortly after asked me how I was feeling and they were expecting me to say feeling dangerous, but it is not gameday so I can’t say that,” Mayfield said.

Mayfield joked that he’s thought about trademarking the phrase, but he has other priorities right now with six games remaining on the schedule.

“Lead this team to a bunch of wins. Put us back in the race,” Mayfield said.

Pro Bowl perks – Linebacker Joe Schobert might be one of few NFL players who get excited about the possibility of another Pro Bowl bid.

“You get a paid vacation, and you get to go to Harry Potter world for free when it’s in Orlando, so there's definitely an incentive there for me growing up reading all the books, watching all the movies,” Schobert said.

“I would definitely not complain if I got to go back.”

Browns rookie cornerback Denzel Ward and punter Britton Colquitt are currently leading the fan vote for the Pro Bowl at their respective positions the league announced Wednesday.

Seeing Green? – Bengals receiver A.J. Green is expected to return to practice Thursday according to head coach Marvin Lewis and there is a chance he could play Sunday against the Browns, which Williams expects.

“We anticipated him playing,” Williams said. “We are expecting him to be fresh.”

Green, who has 45 catches for 657 yards and 6 touchdowns in 8 games this season, has been sidelined the last two weeks with a toe injury and he recently saw a specialist for it.

“He is very athletic, and he has that body type with size, speed, strength, quickness and great hands,” Williams said. “The quarterback and him also have a synergy back and forth, but he is able to separate from man coverage. He has been able to go up and get the ball with his height and his length, and his speed is rare.”

Designated to return – Cornerback Terrance Mitchell returned to practice Wednesday and is designated to return from injured reserve.

“He will be ready to go and the word is he will be able to play in the Panthers game if everything progresses right – maybe the week after that, not for sure – but we will take the protocol with him,” Williams said. “He had a good day.”

Mitchell was placed on IR after suffering a broken right wrist in the second quarter of the Browns 45-42 overtime loss at Oakland.

Mitchell, who has totaled 19 tackles, one interception, three passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery prior to the injury, is eligible to play Dec. 9 against Carolina.

Under league rules teams are permitted to designate two players for return from IR.
