The Cleveland Browns have signed veteran quarterback Drew Stanton to a two year deal, according to Stanton’s agent.
Stanton spent the last five seasons in Arizona backing up Carson Palmer, making 13 starts with a 9-4 record, including 3-1 last season.
The 33-year-old Stanton will backup starter Tyrod Taylor and will be expected to help a rookie quarterback the Browns are likely to take with the first pick in the NFL Draft.
Stanton joins a quarterback room with Taylor, Cody Kessler and Kevin Hogan, though the Browns figure to shuffle signal callers again after the draft.
In 2008, Stanton threw 17 passes for the 0-16 Detroit Lions. He now joins a Cleveland Browns team that went 0-16 in 2017.
