
The team announced that offensive lineman Austin Corbett, receiver Damion Ratley and defensive back Simeon Thomas put pen to paper on their 4-year rookie deals. General anager John Dorsey also signed tight end tight end Julian Allen and defensive lineman Denny Jones, who participated in rooki minicamp on a tryout basis.
Cleveland selected Corbett 33rd overall in the second round out of Nevada, Ratley in round six, 175th overall, and Thomas also in the sixth round, 188th overall.
Corbett, named to the All-Mountain West first team and all conference academic honors, started 48 of 50 games at Nevada. The Browns hope Corbett will develop into Joe Thomas' replacement at left tackle, but they also recognize his versatility and ability to play guard and even center if need be.
In 37 games Ratley totaled 47 catches for 920 yards and 8 touchdowns. In 2017, 11 of his 30 catches went for 25 or more yards and he scored 6 TDs to go with 694 receiving yards.
Thomas played in 31 games for Louisiana-Lafayette where he totaled 90 tackles, 21 passes defensed and 2 interceptions.
Allen is a Southern Mississippi product that totaled 22 catches for 298 yards in 2 seasons.
Jones was a 2016 undrafted free agent out of Nevada that signed with San Francisco. The former Nevada defensive lineman spent time on the Rams' and Cowboys' practice squads. He finished fifth in Nevada history in career sacks (19) and 10th in tackles for loss with 31.5.
