Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – Mike Clevinger's back injury isn't the only cause for concern in the Indians' starting rotation. Carlos Carrasco gave up six hits, allowed six runs and issued on walk in 0.2 innings of work on Friday night in Kansas City.
The first five Royals reached base safely. Carrasco's ERA rose to 12.60 for the season. He's struggled in his three starts and hasn't pitched past the fifth inning. He's allowed 14 runs in 9.1 innings.
Carrasco, 32, signed a two-year extension this past offseason. It's early in the year and Carrasco has had his struggles before, but it's worth monitoring moving forward, especially with Clevinger out for the next few months.
