In the deal -- which was first reported during the NBA Draft -- Cleveland sent the Pistons four future picks, including Utah’s 2020 second round pick, two Portland second-round picks in 2021 and 2023, Miami’s protected 2024 second round pick and cash considerations.
Originally, Porter Jr. was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 30th overall pick in last Thursday's NBA Draft before having his draft rights sent to Detroit in a deal along with Tony Snell. The Pistons meanwhile, sent center Jon Leuer to Milwaukee in the trade. Per NBA rules, the Cavs couldn't discuss or add Porter Jr. to their roster until the deal between Milwaukee and Detroit was finalized.
Porter Jr. spent just a single season at the University of Sourthern California playing in 21 games and making four starts. The Seattle, Washington native had his season cut short by a suspension, due to undisclosed reasons. Over his short collegiate career, Porter Jr. averaged 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists, while shooting 47-percent from the field and 41-percent from three-point range. In his senior season at Rainier Beach High School, he was voted the No. 1 player in the state of Washington and became a highly coveted college recruit.
The addition of Porter Jr. officially rounds out the Cavs 2019 draft class which includes Vanderbilt guard Darius Garland -- taken fifth overall -- and Belomont forward Dylan Windler -- taken 26th overall.
The Cavaliers have yet to announce when it will hold an introductory press conference for Porter Jr.
