Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns completed their fourth coaching interview in as many days Friday by speaking with Saints tight ends coach, assistant head coach Dan Campbell.

The team confirmed the completion of the interview Friday evening.

Campbell joined the Saints in 2016 as the assistant head coach and tight ends coach after spending the previous 5 years in Miami as the tight ends coach. In 2015 Campbell replaced head coach Joe Philbin, who was fired, as interim coach and went 5-7 over the Dolphins’ final 12 games that season.

Campbell, who is 42 and comes from the Bill Parcells coaching tree, spent 10 seasons in the NFL as a tight end with the Cowboys, Giants and Lions and has 7 years coaching experience in the league. He is also expected to interview with the Arizona Cardinals for their head coaching job this weekend.

General manager John Dorsey is leading the Browns’ search for their ninth head coach in the expansion era and fourth under the Haslams’ ownership.

Interim head coach Gregg Williams interviewed Tuesday, former Colts and Lions head coach Jim Caldwell on Wednesday and Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski Thursday.

The Browns are still expected to interview New England defensive coordinator Brian Flores this weekend as well as former Mike McCarthy and current offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens next week.

Cleveland has also requested permission to speak with Colts offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni and Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus.

The team is not confirming any reports of scheduled interviews.
