CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns signed guard Jovahn Fair Monday.
Fair, who is a native of Akron and graduated from Firestone High School, is the second guard in as many days added by executive vice president of football operations and general manager Andrew Berry.
Cleveland signed guard Michael Dunn on Sunday.
Originally signed by Kansas City as an undrafted free agent, Fair started 42 of his 45 career games at Temple.
To make room and maintain a roster count of 80, cornerback Jameson Houston was waived Monday and tight end Nate Wieting was waived Sunday.
The additions to the offensive line were a necessity after the Browns had four offensive linemen, including guards Drew Forbes, Colby Gossett and Malcolm Pridgen, opt out of the season amid COVID-19 concerns.
Offensive tackle Drake Dorbeck also opted out along with defensive tackle Andrew Billings giving the Browns the second-most opt outs leaguewide – five.
