Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – Patrick McCaw's stint in Cleveland could be a short one. Shams Charnia of The Athletic says the Cavaliers are planning to waive McCaw after signing him to a non-guaranteed two-year offer sheet on December 28. Charnia says the Cavaliers are among the teams interested in signing him after he is released.

McCaw didn't impress the Cavaliers enough to guarantee his contract for the rest of the season. He appeared in three games this season and is averaging 1.7 points and one rebound per game.
Cameron Payne is expected to sign a 10-day contract with the team to take his place. He averaged 5.7 points and 2.7 assists in 31 games for Chicago this season. He also shot 41.1 percent from the field and 27.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Matthew Dellavedova is nursing an ankle injury and it's forced Alec Burks to play guard. Payne will likely be Collin Sexton's backup as long as Delly is out.
