The Cavaliers sent four future second round picks and cash to Detroit, who acquired the pick from Milwaukee, according to a league source who confirmed the trade agreement to 92.3 The Fan.
Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports the picks sent to the Pistons are a 2020 Utah second-rounder, 2021 Portland second-rounder, 2023 Portland second rounder and a 2024 Miami second rounder (only if it falls between 55 and 60) as well as $5 million in cash.
The trade between the Pistons and Bucks likely won’t be completed until early- to mid-next week which means the trade with Cleveland won’t be official until then as well.
NBA rules prohibit the Cavaliers from commenting on Porter until the trade becomes official.
Windler averaged 21.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game last season for Belmont while leading them to an OVC championship and their first NCAA tournament victory, after averaging 17.3 points and 9.3 rebounds as a junior in 2017-18.
“If you had to check a bunch of boxes that fit coach Beilein’s system, he fits them all,” general manager Koby Altman said. “He’s tall and he also rebounds. He can make plays off the bounce. He’s a lefty so he gives you an unorthodox look and he truly succeeds with great shooters.
“We’re sitting at 26 and were like, ‘who’s the best shooter in the draft?’”
Over his four years in college, Windler averaged 13.2 points and 7.8 rebounds while shooting .541 from the field.
Porter, who started four games while appearing in 21 games, averaged 9.5 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting .471% from the field for USC last season, which was shortened by a quad injury and a suspension for personal conduct.
“I’ve been battling adversity my whole life,” Porter told ESPN after his selection. “It tests you, makes you better.”
The Cavs selected Vanderbilt guard Darius Garland fifth overall earlier in the evening.
