Hood and Dellavedova out Saturday against New Orleans

Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – The Cavaliers will be without two key players on Saturday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. Matthew Dellavedova will miss his second-straight game with an ankle injury and Rodney Hood is out with Achilles soreness. 

Hood returned to the lineup on Friday against the Jazz, but he reaggravated the injury. He is averaging 12.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and two assists per game this season. The Cavaliers are 8-31 and have lost eight-straight games. They've been plagued by injuries all season long. 

Dellavedova being out means Collin Sexton is the only true point guard available for head coach Larry Drew. The rookie is averaging 30 minutes per game, but could certainly exceed that on Saturday. Alec Burks will likely get time at guard. Delly is averaging nine points, 1.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game since the Cavaliers traded for him on December 7.  

The Cavaliers held a team meeting following Friday's loss to Utah. Tonight will be our first look at a team desperate for a win. They face a tall task (literally) in Anthony Davis and the Pelicans.
