CLEVELAND, OH – Jason Kipnis’ hot streak continued, which helped the Indians complete a three-game sweep over the Angels on Sunday.

The 32-year-old finished 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in Cleveland’s 6-2 win. He’s had an extra base hit in five straight games.

Kipnis wasn’t the only one to get involved in the home run fun. Oscar Mercado and Francisco Lindor both hit solo homers. Lindor has hit 20 or more home runs in each of the last three seasons.

It's quite a feat for the four-time All-Star, who missed all of spring training and the first three weeks of the season with ankle and calf injuries.

Shane Bieber continues to roll for the Tribe. He threw his third complete game of the year, improving to 11-4 on the season. He allowed two runs, five hits and didn't issue a walk. He finished with eight strikeouts, which gives him 300 in his career.

The Indians improve to a season-high 21 games above .500. They're 66-45 on the year and have the best record in baseball (38-16) since June 1.

Tough Break

Franmil Reyes struggled on Sunday. He went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts. His third strike out happened with runners on second and third. He took out his frustrations on the bat.

Reyes leads the Indians with 27 home runs, but hasn’t hit one in the four games he’s played in for the Tribe.

Up Next

The Indians welcome the Rangers to town on Monday for the start of a three game series. Aaron Civale will make his second start of the season. He’s 1-0 on the year and didn’t allow a run in his lone start against the Tigers on June 22.

The Rangers moved Mike Minor up one day to Monday, so go up against Civale. He’s 9-6 on the season with a 3.21 ERA.
