Indians roll Mariners 16-2 in Carrasco's first start of the spring

Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – The Indians scored 12 runs in two innings, which helped spark a 16-2 win over the Mariners on Sunday. 

The Tribe sent 11 men to the plate in a seven-run fourth inning. They added on five more runs in the fifth. Carlos Carrasco got the win in his first start of the spring. He allowed two runs and three hits in three innings. 


Oscar Mercado continues to impress. The 24-year-old hit his third home run of the spring, finishing 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI.

The bullpen didn't allow a run in six innings of work. Adam Plutko, Dan Otero, Justin Grimm, Nick Wittgren and Nick Goody followed Carrasco. The Indians are 9-7 this spring. 

Up Next – The Indians play the Reds tomorrow at 4:05 in Goodyear. Corey Kluber will get his first start of the spring. Anthony DeSclafani is expected to start for Cincinnati.
