Jason Kipnis finished 1-for-4 with one RBI in his season debut for the Indians. The 31-year-old missed the first 15 games of the year due to a calf strain.

Ramirez (Jose) finished 1-for-3 and walked twice. It was a welcome sight for the two-time All-Star, who entered Monday night's game with two walks.

The Indians added onto their lead in the eighth inning when Ramirez scored on a wild pitch. The Tribe added another run when Greg Allen was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it 5-1.

Reliever Oliver Perez gave up three runs in the bottom of the eighth, which put Cleveland in danger of suffering a fourth-straight loss. The Indians scored another run in the ninth to make it 6-4.

Brad Hand was perfect in the ninth and picked up his fifth save of the season. The Indians improve to 9-7.

Up Next – The Indians play the Mariners at 10:10 p.m. on Tuesday night. Shane Bieber looks for his second win of the season. He'll go up against Mike Leake.
