The team has committed to pay the salaries of all full-time employees through June 30th. In order help the team ensure they would be able to pay those employees, fourty senior staff members reduced their salaries. The team also furloughed its part-time employees, who may be eligible to be paid similarly through unemployment benefits.
Part-time workers and interns with the Indians have been furloughed, with the potential to make the same amount of money or perhaps more through unemployment benefits. Other organizations have considered taking similar measures as they try to figure out financial paths forward.

With the MLB season on hold, with previous reports saying teams could return to action in June or play in Arizona, employees salaries have been a topic around the league and sports.
While some teams have guaranteed the salaries of all employees through mid-May, others are looking at the Indians plan as a possible model for them to follow.
