Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – The Indians signed veteran outfielder Cameron Maybin to a minor-league contract on Friday. He was assigned to the Triple-A Columbus Clippers.

The 31-year-old has played 12 seasons in the big leagues. He spent spring training with San Francisco, posting a .163 batting average before getting released. Maybin was a member of the 2017 World Series Champion Houston Astros. He has a career .254/.322/.368 slash line.

The Indians probably aren't expecting much from Maybin, who spent time with Seattle and Miami last season. This does give the Tribe another veteran outfielder to evaluate.

They signed Carlos Gonzalez on March 19 and expect him to contribute to the big league club at some point this season.
