Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – The Indians signed manager Terry Francona to a two-year extension. The team made the announcement on Wednesday morning. Francona is now under contract through the 2022 season.

Francona, 60, has posted a 547-427 record since being hired in 2013. The Indians have finished with a winning record in all six seasons he's managed.

The organization made it clear this offseason that they wanted to compete now and prepare for the future. Keeping Tito in town is an important step of that process.

Francona and Chris Antonetti will discuss the extension before the Indians play the White Sox on Wednesday.
