Indians beat Brewers 9-3, lose to Royals 17-7 in split-squad action

Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – The Indians beat the Brewers 9-3 in their first of two games in split-squad action on Wednesday. They lost to the Royals 17-7 in their second matchup of the afternoon. 

Trevor Bauer got the start against Milwaukee, finishing with 10 strikeouts and allowing three runs in 4.2 innings. Hanley Ramirez finished 1-for-3 with two RBI. The Indians jumped out to a 4-0 lead, before Bauer allowed a three-run homer in the fourth inning. Ryan Flaherty hit a double in the fifth that extended the Indians lead to 7-3. 


The Tribe didn't fare as well in their second game of the day. None of their pitchers lasted more than 1.2 innings in the loss to Kansas City. The Royals scored four runs in the first, fourth and eighth innings, en route to an easy win. 

Greg Allen was a bright spot, finishing 3-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored. Jake Bauers went 2-for-3 with five RBI. Cleveland is 10-8 this spring. Watch a few highlights below:
