ESPN's Jeff Passan reports X-rays on Ramirez showed no signs of a broken bone, which is great news for the Indians. Passan notes that there isn't a timetable for his return.
Ramirez's status throws another wrench into the Indians' plans in the infield. Francisco Lindor and Jason Kipnis are both dealing with calf injuries. The team signed Brad Miller on Sunday to help stabilize the middle of the infield. Max Moroff replaced Ramirez at third base.
The Indians start the season in Minnesota on Thursday against the Twins.
