Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – All-Star third baseman Jose Ramirez was carted off the field on Sunday after fouling a pitch off of his left leg. The 26-year-old suffered a knee contusion according to the Indians and is being taken for X-rays.

ESPN's Jeff Passan reports X-rays on Ramirez showed no signs of a broken bone, which is great news for the Indians. Passan notes that there isn't a timetable for his return.

Ramirez's status throws another wrench into the Indians' plans in the infield. Francisco Lindor and Jason Kipnis are both dealing with calf injuries. The team signed Brad Miller on Sunday to help stabilize the middle of the infield. Max Moroff replaced Ramirez at third base.

The Indians start the season in Minnesota on Thursday against the Twins.
