Indians tie Reds 5-5 in Kluber's spring debut

Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – The Indians tied the Reds 5-5 today in Goodyear. It's the second time the two teams tied this spring. 

Corey Kluber started his first game, pitching 3.2 innings, allowing six hits and three earned runs. The 32-year-old finished with four strikeouts. Mike Clevinger allowed two runs in 2.2 innings out of the bullpen. 


The Tribe rallied from a 5-1 deficit with two runs in the sixth inning, before tying the game in the eighth on a two-run homer by Eric Haase. Neither team was able to score in the ninth and the game ended in a tie. 

Alex Wilson, Adam Cimber and Brad Hand had scoreless outings. Cleveland is 9-7 this spring. 

Up Next – The Indians are off on Tuesday, before playing the Royals and Brewers in split-squad action on Wednesday.
