Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – The Indians tied the Reds 9-9 on Sunday. It was the third time the two teams have tied this spring.
Corey Kluber pitched three-scoreless innings, before allowing five runs in the fourth inning, including a grand slam to Yasiel Puig.
The Indians took a 3-0 lead in a second inning that included a two-RBI double by Jordan Luplow. The Reds answered with five runs in the fourth and three in the fifth inning.
Reliever Nick Wittgren helped settle things down, pitching two-scoreless innings out of the bullpen, which paved the way for the comeback. Wittgren hasn’t allowed a run in six-straight appearances.
The Indians scored four runs in the ninth inning to tie the game at 9-9.
Carlos Santana finished 2-for-3, with a double and a run scored. Greg Allen had an RBI-triple and has posted a .419 batting average this spring. Cleveland is 12-9-3 this spring.
