CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Jimmy Haslam will step aside as CEO of Pilot Company on January 1, 2021 and become chairman of the board the company announced Tuesday.

Shameek Konar, currently the company’s chief strategy officer, will replace Haslam as CEO.

The Haslam family will continue to be involved in the company after the transition is completed.

Founder James (Jim) Haslam will serve as chairman emeritus. Whitney Haslam Johnson will continue to serve as chief experience officer and member of the board, and Bill Haslam will serve on the board the company said.

The moves at Pilot Company do not affect the Browns or Haslam’s involvement with the franchise in any way the team said.

The Haslam family purchased the Browns in 2012. They recently renamed the ownership group ‘The Haslam Sports Group’ after acquiring Major League Soccer’s Columbus Crew.
