August 26, 2019 Ramírez posted a .313/.360/.643 slash line with 16 home runs in his last 60 games. His resurgence has helped the Indians climb back into the AL Central race. The Indians haven't released a timetable for his return.
Cleveland has Monday off. They begin a three-game series with Detroit on Tuesday.
Salazar Returns
Danny Salazar made a one inning start for Double-A Akron on Monday night. He didn’t allow a run and finished with one strikeout. He threw eight total pitches (six strikes).
The Indians could get some help in the outfield in the near future. Jordan Luplow will make a rehab appearance for Columbus on Tuesday. He suffered a
right hamstring strain earlier this month.
Luplow has been a force against left-handed pitching this season, posting a .305 batting average with 10 home runs and 21 RBI.
Bradley Zimmer started for Triple-A Columbus on Monday night, finishing 1-for-3 with a single. It was his first start for the Clippers. He posted a .308 batting average with one home run in four games for Double-A Akron.
Other Injury Notes
Carlos Carrasco will make another rehab appearance for Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday. Everything has gone well for Carrasco, who’s attempting to return after being diagnosed with leukemia earlier this season.
The 32-year-old
could join the Indians once the roster expands on September 1. Dan Otero is on a similar timetable and could also join the big league club after another appearance for the Clippers on Wednesday.
