NFL, NBA gives fans free access to streaming services

CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The NFL and NBA are trying to do their part to help fans deal with quarantines as a result of the COVID-19 or coronavirus pandemic sweeping the world.

The NFL and NBA announced Wednesday their premium streaming services will be made available to fans free of charge for a limited time.


The NFL’s ‘Game Pass’ streaming service will be offered free of charge to U.S. residents until May 31. For international fans the service will become available on Thursday through July 31.

Here’s what is available on Game Pass:

  • Game Replays
    • Replay games from 2009-2019 including full broadcast replays of games, commercial-free in HD (International – 2019 season only)
    • Includes Preseason (excluding 2009 season), playoff and Super Bowl matchups from the past 11 seasons (International - 2019 Season only)
    • Condensed 45-minute game replays
    • Access 'All-22' and 'High Endzone' angle footage with Coaches Film
  • Exclusive NFL Game Pass Film Sessions
    • NFL players and coaches take Brian Baldinger and Ron Jaworski inside the film room to break down game-winning plays and technique
  • NFL Shows & Game Archives
    • 2019 episodes of NFL RedZone (International Only*)
    • Previous seasons of NFL Originals such as Hard KnocksMic'd Up, & A Football Life
  • Live NFL Network (International Only*)
    • 24/7 coverage of Free Agency, NFL Total Access and more

*NFL Game Pass International offer excludes Canada and China; NFL Network not offered live in Mexico

To sign up for their complimentary access to NFL Game Pass, fans can create an account on the web at NFL.com/GamePass, or via the NFL app across mobile and connected TV devices.  

The NBA's League Pass will be made available to all fans until April 22.

Games from the 2019-2020 season as well as an "expansive archive" of classic games and content are available to stream.

The league says that fans can "redeem this free offer by signing into your NBA account through NBA.com or the NBA App on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android mobile and tablet devices, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and other supported devices."
