Odell Beckham Jr. “free and clear” from offseason surgery

CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Odell Beckham Jr. is expected to be ready for the start of training camp while Jarvis Landry will still be working his way back to the field according to Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski.

Beckham underwent surgery in February to repair a core muscle injury he played through in 2019 and Landry underwent hip surgery.

“They had two very different surgeries,” Stefanski said on a Zoom video conference call with reporters Thursday. “Odell’s free and clear. He’s 100%. He’s looking real good, and then Jarvis, to his credit, he is looking great in some of the videos I’ve seen of him moving around.

“We’ll make sure we ramp both of them up appropriately.”

Beckham was limited or sidelined for practice starting in training camp but did not miss a game and finished second on the team behind Landry with 74 catches for 1,034 yards. He also caught four touchdowns.

Landry, who elected to have surgery on his hip after appearing in his fifth Pro Bowl in six years, caught 83 passes for 1,174 yards and six touchdowns in 2019.

Beckham and Landry became the first receiver duo in franchise history to tally 1,000-yard seasons in the same year.
