Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – Football fans are blessed with some great NFL matchups in the divisional round this weekend. Here are quick predictions for each game:
Indianapolis @ Kansas City – The Colts' defense fared well last week against Houston, but Deshaun Watson helped their cause. Something tells me that won't be the case with Patrick Mahomes. I expect Andrew Luck to keep it close, but the Chiefs win a shootout.
Final Score – Chiefs: 37 Colts: 34
Dallas @ Los Angeles – The Cowboys' defense has been great in recent weeks and they're one of the hottest teams in the league. The Rams' home-field advantage is one of the worst in the league. There will be plenty of Dallas fans in the crowd, which should help Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott's cause on offense. This feels like a winnable game for the Cowboys, but they're not going to get it done. The Rams are more talented. They have the better head coach and quarterback combination. That matters in the playoffs and it will be the difference on Sunday.
Final Score – Rams: 27 Cowboys: 21
Los Angeles @ New England – It's been a long time since I've went into a playoff game expecting the Patriots to lose. The Chargers have a high-end pass rush and the ability to run the ball. They also have a future Hall of Famer at quarterback in Phillip Rivers. It's never wise to count out Tom Brady or Bill Belichick, but the Chargers are the better team. Rob Gronkowski is a shell of what he once was and Julian Edelman hasn't looked the same since he returned from a torn ACL. Melvin Gordon has a huge day and Los Angeles picks up the win.
Final Score – Chargers: 27 Patriots: 24
Philadelphia @ New Orleans – Will the Nick Foles magic continue? It's hard to bet against him, but I'm going to. I thought the Saints were the best team in the NFL last season. They might've won the Super Bowl, but the 'Minnesota Miracle' got in the way. The Saints went toe-to-toe with the Rams and other high-end offenses this season. They should be able to contain Foles. Philadelphia's pass rush is the equalizer, but Brees will get the ball out of his hands quickly. The Saints squeak out a win.
Final Score – Saints: 31 Philadelphia: 27
Please don't tell this guy I picked New Orleans:
