Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – The Mariners scored early and often in their 10-0 win over the Indians on Sunday.
Cleveland starter Cody Anderson gave up a grand slam to former Indians outfielder Jay Bruce in the first inning. Anderson only lasted ⅔ of an inning, allowing two hits, three walks and four runs.

May 5, 2019 The Mariners added five more runs in the fourth and fifth inning. Two of them were courtesy of Edwin Encarnación, who hit two home runs in the series.
The Indians didn't get a hit until José Ramírez's double in the sixth inning. He had both of the Indians' hits. It's a good sign for Ramírez who's off to a slow start.
"You have to be patient. If you’re not patient, you’re going to miss out," manager Terry Francona
said before the game. "Like with Josey, it’s easy to go 'well bench him,' forget that. He’s gonna hit man, and when he hits he’s really going to hit.”
Ramírez finished 2-for-3 with a walk. He's hit safely in four-straight games.
The Indians fall to 18-14 on the season. They used seven relievers, including catcher Kevin Plawecki. He pitched a perfect ninth inning and hasn't allowed a hit in two relief appearances this season.
Weird Stat of the Day – The Indians went 5-1 against Seattle this season, but were outscored 21-18 in the six games they played against each other. Every game went down to the wire, except for Sunday. The Indians never beat the Mariners by more than two runs in all five of their wins.
Frye Sets the Tone – Everyone should blame former Cavaliers forward Channing Frye for Sunday's loss. He threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Frye's toss might've been the worst pitch at Progressive Field on a day when there were plenty of bad ones.
Up Next – The Chicago White Sox are in town for a four game series at Progressive Field. Trevor Bauer will go up against Ivan Nova on Monday. Bauer enters the game with a 4-1 record and a 2.45 ERA.
