Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – Tristan Thompson could miss up to two weeks with left foot soreness according to the Cavaliers. He missed the last four games dealing with the issue, which appears more serious than anyone initially thought.
Thompson sprained his left foot on December 10. He returned to the lineup on January 2. The soreness is related to the sprain. He’s averaging 11.5 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this season.
The 9-40 Cavaliers have dealt with injuries all season long. This injury is just as significant as any because of the timing. The 27-year-old is having a career year and the trade deadline is 13 days from today. He may not suit up again until after the February 7 trade deadline, which makes it more likely that he stays in Cleveland.
The Cavaliers will get Larry Nance Jr. back tonight against Miami and Kevin Love continues to make progress following toe surgery in November. The injury bug has plagued the Cavaliers all season long.
They’re looking for their tenth victory of the season tonight at Quicken Loans Arena.
