CLEVELAND, OH — Bradley Beal was the best player on the floor during Thursday’s game against the Cavaliers. The Wizards’ star finished with a game-high 36 points and eight assists in Washington’s 124-112 win over Cleveland.

The Wizards reached the 100-point mark in three quarters and got any shot they wanted on offense. They shot 55 percent from the field and 44 percent from beyond the arc.


Collin Sexton was a bright spot for the Cavaliers, finishing with 29 points, four rebounds and four assists. Larry Nance Jr. tied a career-high with 22 points. He also had 12 rebounds and three assists.

The Cavaliers shot 46 percent from the field and 33 percent from beyond the arc.

Former Cavs guard Isaiah Thomas had 13 points, three rebounds and four assists.

The Cavaliers fall to 12-33 on the season. They’re 6-16 at home and have lost six straight games.

Rookie Slump

Rookie Darius Garland struggled again for the Cavaliers. He’s been dealing with the flu, which certainly could’ve had an impact on his performance.

Garland finished with 13 points and four assists, but shot 4-of-17 from the field. He’s 23-for-79 (29 percent) in his last five games.

On This Date

LeBron James reached the 30,000 point mark on January 23, 2018 against the Spurs. The Cavs showed a video of the jump shot in the first half as part of their 50th season celebration. It was met with plenty of cheers from the crowd.

Fans also got to see Daniel ‘Boobie’ Gibson and Drew Gooden, who were in attendance and part of the Cavaliers’ television broadcast on Fox Sports Ohio.
