Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen threw in front of the Browns this afternoon to mixed reviews, but more positives than negatives for the quarterback prospect.
The 21 year old has been working on his mechanics since the end of the season, and on the NFL Network credited his new throwing coach, Jordan Palmer, for showcasing as well as he thought he did today "I wouldn't be in this position without Jordan Palmer, getitng in with him and going over our old film, you got to be prepared and that's what we did." Allen performed in front of 8 members of the Browns including owner Jimmy Haslam.

— NFL Network (@nflnetwork) March 23, 2018The deep throws were there, and of course, that has have never been an issue with Allen.
Pro days are tough to evaluate for a multitude of reasons, but the biggest being the fact that they're still throwing against air.
Ultimately people only look for things to affirm what they have already decided. If they liked Josh Allen before this pro day, it was good for them; if they didn't, it wasn't.No one lets facts inform an opinion anymore. They craft an opinion, & look for data to support it.
— Benjamin Allbright (@AllbrightNFL) March 23, 2018I've been a big fan of taking Josh Rosen, Baker Mayfield, or Sam Darnold and am not really interested in the idea of Allen for the Browns. That didn't change for me today at the end of this. His mechanics, in particular his foot work that he's been working on, does look improved though. He seems to have made strides from being the quarterback that completed just 56-percent of his throws over the last two years, but I'd be surprised if Jordan Palmer could fix his accuracy questions in three months of work. If he was able to do that, Palmer would be on an NFL payroll for the rest of his life.
Josh Allen's pro day was very up and down. He has an extremely strong arm. The ball obviously jumps out of his hand. Ball placement and overthrow issues were on display, but it was nice to see him show some sense of touch on throws.
— J.R. (@JReidDraftScout) March 23, 2018It wasn't the type of day where you came away with any grand conclusions like many did after watching Sam Darnold at USC on Wednesday. He had his moments, he showed off his arm like he did at the combine, and he remains the most intriguing prospect of the bunch. There's a lot to love about the big arm, the size, and all the potential he does have, but after today he still remains as a quarterback I'm happier with the Browns avoiding.
