PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – While the Steelers have three more years of Kenny Pickett under a rookie deal, the other teams in the AFC North all have quarterbacks making big money. The latest in Cincinnati.

Days after San Francisco’s Nick Bosa gets a record contract for a defensive player, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow sets the NFL record with a $275 million contract with $219.01 million guaranteed. In his three seasons, Burrow led the Bengals to the Super Bowl in 2021 and the AFC Championship game in 2022.

Here is how the AFC North QB salaries look
·     Joe Burrow-Cincinnati-$275 million contract, $219 million guaranteed
·     Lamar Jackson-Baltimore-$260 million contract, $185 million guaranteed
·     Deshaun Watson-Cleveland-$230 million contract, $230 million guaranteed
·     Kenny Pickett-Steelers-$14 million contract, $14 million guaranteed

It’s a complete reversal of the last few years when the Steelers had Ben Roethlisberger on a big contract and Burrow and Jackson were on rookie deals as was Baker Mayfield in Cleveland.

Burrow is expected to play after a calf injury during training camp as the Bengals open at Cleveland, Ravens home to Houston and the Steelers hosting San Francisco all at 1p on Sunday.
