Albert Pujols is not quite at 700 yet, but he is still setting new records.

The St. Louis Cardinals slugger belted a home run on Monday night against the Reds, career No. 694, as he inches closer to the rare 700 mark in his final MLB season.

But Pujols’ home run also came against Ross Detwiler, whom he has never homered off of before, which makes Detwiler the 450th pitcher Pujols has taken deep.

That breaks a record that was previously set by Barry Bonds for most home runs off of different pitchers.

Pujols has now hit eight home runs in his last 17 games and has a little over a month to hit six more to become only the fourth MLB player to hit 700 home runs in his career.
