Houston Astros' reliever Phil Maton will miss the team's postseason run, and he only has himself to blame for it.

According to Sam Blum of The Athletic, Maton broke the fifth metacarpal bone in his pitching hand when he punched a locker Wednesday, ending his season.
The 29-year-old righty had a 3.84 ERA and 4.33 FIP in 67 games for Dusty Baker's Astros in 2022.
The Astros had a first-round bye in the playoffs, so they haven't played since Oct. 5, last Wednesday.
Maton did appear in the final game of the regular season against the Philadelphia Phillies. Notably, he allowed a base hit to his younger brother, Nick:
It's unclear if the punch had anything to do with giving up a hit to his brother, or if it was frustration after giving up two hits and two runs in 1/3 of an inning. Certainly, it's quite the coincidence.
Ironically, Nick was left off of the Phillies' NLDS roster Tuesday after he was on for the NLWCS.
