It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions for those invested, hoping Brandon Aiyuk is traded to the Steelers.
From the Steelers are in it, to the Steelers are out and back to “we’re back”, talks are reportedly continuing to bring the talented wide receiver to Pittsburgh.
In the latest news, 93.7 The Fan’s Andrew Fillipponi says that “Barring a last second change of heart from the 49ers (maybe) or Brandon Aiyuk (doubtful). The Steelers expect to trade for Aiyuk by the end of the week. At the latest.”
Matt Maiocco, who has been covering San Francisco 49ers for 30 years tweeted:
Mike Tomlin held a news conference on Wednesday morning before the team opens up the preseason against the Houston Texans at Acrisure Stadium.
He was asked if the Steelers were looking to get another receiver.
Instead of dismissing it, Tomlin had a smile on his face and said, “You know I’ll let you guys speculate on that.”
Also, according to reports, the Patriots are now OUT of the Aiyuk sweepstakes, leaving Cleveland and Pittsburgh (reportedly).
Aiyuk reportedly doesn’t want to sign with the Browns and the Steelers have a deal worked out to sign him long-term.
It appears the Steelers and 49ers need to come to an agreement on what Pittsburgh will give up to improve their WR room.
