Belief is that T.J. Watt won’t need surgery

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

When T.J. Watt was coming off of the field in the final minutes of regular time, he told the trainers that he "tore my pec" and didn't return to the game.

There has been a lot of speculation on how bad Watt’s injury really is, with many believing that season ending surgery was a real possibility for him.

A report has just came out that the tear won't require surgery and that T.J. should return to the field this season.

If he indeed doesn’t need surgery, depending on the way his pectoral tear heals and how well the physical therapy goes, sources say he could be back by the end of October.

Mike Tomlin will meet with the media to give more details on Tuesday and Wednesday as the Steelers get ready for Bill Belichick and the Patriots.
