A known agitator who has made a career out of getting under opponents’ skin, Patrick Beverley was at it again Wednesday night, getting T’d up before the Timberwolves’ game against Toronto had even started.

Moments before the opening tip at Target Center, the cagey vet confronted Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. about dipping into the Timberwolves’ rosin supply (used by players to clean the bottom of their shoes), prompting referee Derrick Collins to separate the two while handing out techs to both players.
Beverley has now accrued six technicals this season including one in a game he didn’t even play in. A rugged defender who has carved out a niche as an agent of chaos, Minnesota rewarded Beverley with a one-year, $13-millon extension earlier this week. The T-Wolves haven’t reached the playoffs since 2018 but are looking to change that, holding a three-game advantage over Beverley’s former team, the Clippers, for seventh in the Western Conference.
