PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Former Steelers Coach, Super Bowl Champion and Hall of Fame inductee Bill Cowher is reacting to this year’s induction ceremony being moved to next year.
In a tweet, Cowher says he supports the NFL’s decision to move the ceremony to 2021.
“See you in Canton in August 2021 for a festive weekend. Stay Safe,” said Cowher.
Earlier this week, the NFL announced the annual Hall of Fame Game featuring the Steelers taking on the Cowboys will be delayed until 2021 along with the enshrinement of 20 men that also include Troy Polamalu and Donnie Shell.
“This is the right decision for several reasons, first and foremost the health and welfare of our Gold Jackets, incoming centennial class of 2020 members, hall personnel and event volunteers,” said David Baker, the hall's CEO. “We also must consider the most appropriate way to fulfill the first tenet of our mission: To honor the heroes of the game. This decision meets that duty.”
