Things are starting to look at lot more like 2020.
As COVID cases spike across all professional sports, the Montreal Canadiens are taking the most drastic measure thus far and will prohibit fans from attending Thursday night’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers at the Bell Centre.

Cases have risen in the province of Quebec and the Ontario provincial government recently decided to reduce in-arena capacity of large venues to 50%.
Many stadiums and arenas were at zero or partial capacity last year prior to the vaccine in an attempt to mitigate the spread of the virus.
The new Omicron variant appears to be highly transmissible and has many of the sports leagues re-examining its protocols.
Earlier on Thursday, the NFL adjusted its COVID protocols for players, but fan attendance is still allowed and at full capacity.
