Travis Kelce has cemented himself in greatness.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end broke Jerry Rice’s record for most postseason receptions with his 152nd career playoff catch in the second quarter of Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Kelce entered the game needing seven catches to pass Rice and got there pretty quickly as Patrick Mahomes kept feeding him the ball early on, including a 19-yard touchdown pass on the first drive of the game, putting him four touchdown catches behind Rice’s other playoff record.
The record-setting reception came on a third-and-9 to get the Chiefs inside the red zone but Kelce came up just shy of the first down. The Chiefs went for it on fourth down but were unable to covert.
Last week, Kelce and Mahomes passed Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski for most playoff touchdowns by a quarterback and receiver.
