Browns activate S Ronnie Harrison Jr., 2 others from Reserve/COVID-19

CBs Denzel Ward, Kevin Johnson remain on virus list, out Sunday

CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns won’t be as shorthanded as originally thought Sunday night in Pittsburgh.

Saturday morning the team activated safety Ronnie Harrison, linebacker Malcolm Smith and tight end Harrison Bryant from the Reserve/COVID-19 list but their top two corners – Denzel Ward and Kevin Johnson – remain on the virus list and will not play.

Terrance Mitchell, who was absent Friday but not injury related is also questionable meaning the Browns could ultimately be without their top three corners against the Steelers, who racked up 309 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns with backup quarterback Mason Rudolph at the helm in a 24-22 win that clinched Cleveland's first playoff berth since the 2002 season.

The NFL also determined that safety Jovante Moffatt was not a close contact and he remains on the active roster.

The team says that there is no change to the status of right tackle Jack Conklin, who missed practice Friday due to an illness. He is questionable.

Cleveland was unable to practice Wednesday and Thursday this week following multiple positive COVID-19 tests, including head coach Kevin Stefanski and left guard Joel Bitonio.

The Browns are holding a walk-through Saturday afternoon before flying to Pittsburgh for their AFC Wild Card playoff game.
