Browns agree to terms with DE Takk McKinley

CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – On day two, Andrew Berry added edge rushing help.

The Browns agreed to a deal with free agent defensive end Takk McKinley a league source confirmed to 92.3 The Fan Tuesday.

Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports first reported the agreement.

Contracts can not be signed until Wednesday at 4 p.m. eastern.

McKinley, a former first-round pick of Atlanta – 26th overall in 2017, will sign a one-year deal worth approximately $4 million.

The Browns tried to claim McKinley on waivers last year and they will bring him in on a low risk, prove it contract.

McKinley spent his first three full NFL seasons with the Falcons before being waived last November. He was claimed by the Bengals, waived a week later after failing a physical, claimed by the 49ers and waived again a week later for the same reason and then claimed by the Raiders in mid-December.

Over four seasons, the 25-year-old has appeared in 49 games with 25 starts where he has 17.5 sacks with 13 of them coming in his first two years, 45 QB hits, 22 tackles for loss, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
