CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Browns chief of staff Callie Brownson pleaded no contest to a single OVI charge Tuesday night stemming from a traffic stop in the early hours of May 27 in Brunswick.
Court records show that Brownson was pulled over on Pearl Road in Brunswick after an officer clocked her driving 55 mph in a 35 mph zone at 12:57 in the morning.
According to court records, Brownson’s blood alcohol level was 0.2150, over twice the legal limit of .08 in the state of Ohio. She was charged with two counts of OVI, including having a BAC above .17, and speeding.
Brownson pleaded no contest to one OVI charge. The speeding and OVI over .17 charge were both dismissed according to court documents. She paid $780 in fines and court costs.
Brownson now faces discipline from the team, and possibly the NFL for violating the league's conduct policy.
“We aware of the incident and are extremely disappointed that a member of our organization put themselves in this situation," a Browns spokesperson said in a statement. “We take this matter very seriously and will take the appropriate disciplinary actions.”
Brownson is in her second season with the Browns as head coach Kevin Stefanski's assistant.
