CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Cornerback Denzel Ward and right tackle Jack Conklin start training camp on active/PUP while linebacker Anthony Walker was placed on active non-football injury along with defensive tackle Sheldon Day the team announced.
Ward suffered an injury to his left foot during the final practice of minicamp in June and was in a walking boot as he left FirstEnergy Stadium and at his football camp in Akron this summer.
Conklin, who is coming off a torn patellar tendon that ended his 2021 season, is still recovering.
The team said Walker has a groin injury and Day a back injury.
Receiver Javon Wims was put on active/non-football illness.
The players count against the 90-man roster limit and can return during camp as soon as they pass their physicals and conditioning test.
The first official practice of camp is Wednesday afternoon and the first practice open to the public is Saturday at 2 p.m.
