CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns and Jack Conklin have reportedly agreed to restructure the final year of the right tackle’s contract.
Conklin was originally scheduled to be paid $12 million, but it was not guaranteed making him a potential salary cap casualty this offseason with him coming off injury.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, Conklin will be guaranteed $8 million with an additional $4 million available through playtime incentives.
The move opens at least $4 million in cap space for the Browns.
Conklin ruptured the right patellar tendon in his knee November 28 at Baltimore after just coming off injured reserve from a dislocated left elbow suffered October 31 against the Steelers.
Conklin, a two-time All-Pro offensive tackle, signed a three-year, $42 million contract as a free agent in 2020.
