CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Cleveland Browns left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. will not return this season.

Neither will Dawand Jones or Maurice Hurst.

Wills underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Tuesday morning and he is expected to be ready for the start of the 2024 season the team announced.

Wills was placed on injured reserve on November 6 after he suffered an MCL injury in a win over the Arizona Cardinals the day before but it was not believed to be season-ending at the time.

The team wanted to see if Wills would be able to recover without surgery. Five weeks later, and Wills' injury had not progressed they way the medical staff had hoped.

The Browns have lost three offensive tackles to knee injuries for the season – Jack Conklin during Week 1, Wills in Week 9 and this past weekend Jones, who was placed on injured reserve along with Hurst Tuesday afternoon.

Jones, a fourth round pick out of Ohio State this year, appeared in 11 games with nine starts in place of Conklin at right tackle..

Hurst appeared in all 13 games where he recorded 22 tackles, 1.5 sacks, the pass breakups, an interception and fumble recovery. He was sidelined due to a pectoral injury.

A total of 10 Browns have suffered season-ending injuries – linebacker Jacob Phillips, receiver/returner Jakeem Grant, receiver Michael Woods II (Non-football injury), right tackle Jack Conklin, running back Nick Chubb, Wills, quarterback Deshaun Watson, safety Rodney McLeod, Jones and Hurst.

Defensive end Sam Kamara was signed to the active 53 from the practice squad. The Browns also signed quarterback P.J. Walker, who was waived last week, back to the practice squad.

The Browns are 8-5, despite starting four different quarterbacks this season, and they currently hold the top Wild Card slot and fifth seed in the AFC playoff race.
