CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Cleveland Browns stayed in house once again to fill their second key offensive coaching staff opening and named a hotel partner for their ‘District 46’ development in Berea on Tuesday.
Senior offensive assistant Bill Musgrave will handle quarterback coaching duties this season. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo was first to report the news.
Musgrave, who has served as an offensive coordinator for six teams over his 26-year college and NFL coaching career – Philadelphia, Carolina, Jacksonville, Minnesota, Oakland and Denver, joined the organization in 2023.
Stefanski recently promoted tight ends coach Tommy Rees to offensive coordinator.
Another piece to the team’s ‘District 46’ development plans was also revealed Tuesday.
The Barker, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel by Marriott, will help anchor the Browns mixed-use development in Berea next to their headquarters, CrossCountry Mortgage Campus.
The hotel will feature 96,000 square feet of space to include 140 rooms, a bar and restaurant, a fitness center, meeting space and other amenities.
Construction on the five-story hotel is expected to begin later this year and open in 2027.
“Adding The Barker Hotel as part of District 46 at CrossCountry Mortgage Campus will not only help continue to grow Berea and the surrounding areas, but also provide fans with an ideal place to stay right in the backyard of our facility,” Haslam Sports Group chief operating officer David Jenkins said. “We look forward to working with DiGeronimo Companies, Crawford Hoying, Shaner Hotel Group and Marriott on this project to help complete the neighborhood, which is already bringing a variety of spaces to benefit the region.”
The new Tribute Portfolio hotel will be developed by DiGeronimo Companies and Crawford Hoying, and owned by Haslam Sports Group and DiGeronimo, with Shaner serving as the hotel operating partner.
The ‘District 46 at CrossCountry Mortgage Campus’ development which will also include a 7,000-seat community stadium/field and University Hospitals sports medicine facility, is estimated to cost over $210 million and will be built on 16 acres of land bordering Lou Groza Blvd. and Front St. in Berea next to the team’s headquarters.
