BEREA, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah will not play in 2025.
The team announced that they have placed the former Pro Bowl linebacker on reserve/PUP as he continues to recover from a neck injury suffered in Week 8 against Baltimore as the result of a collision with running back Derrick Henry.
Owusu-Koramoah was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, and he was released the next day.
The 2021 second-round pick reported for the offseason program on April 21.
“Jeremiah's health is of the utmost importance to us and although he has made progress towards recovery, we've made the decision to place him on Reserve/PUP, which means he will not play football during the 2025 season,” Browns executive vice president of football operations and general manager Andrew Berry said. "Jeremiah has the full support of our team, and we expect him to continue to be a part of the organization even though he will not return to the field this year. We will not make any predictions on Jeremiah's football future at this time, but we do note that he's in good spirits and will continue to take the advice of the world-class medical experts who will continue to guide his progress and recovery.”
Owusu-Koramoah, who cannot play or practice as a result of the esignation Monday in 2025, released this statement through the team:

I don’t know what’s next, but I’ll continue trusting my medical team, serving the community, and backing my brothers on the field. Love always, JOK.”
Owusu-Koramoah has appeared in 49 career games were he has tallied 302 tackles, eight sacks, three interceptions, 17 passes defensed, six forced fumbles and 40 tackles for loss.
