CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Cleveland Browns are hoping to hire Eagles vice president of football operations Catherine Raiche for a “high level” position within the front office a league source confirmed to 92.3 The Fan Tuesday evening.
Browns executive vice president of football operations Andrew Berry worked with Raiche in Philadelphia where he assisted her hire as football operations coordinator.
When Berry returned to the Browns in 2020, Raiche was promoted and replaced him as Philadelphia’s vice president on football operations which made her the NFL’s highest ranking female personnel executive in the league.
According to her bio on the Eagles’ website, “Raiche is involved in all areas of football operations and player personnel, including pro and college scouting, contract management, player/staff development, and football research.”
Under Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski, the Browns have been at the forefront of diversity and inclusion in providing opportunities – especially to women.
Callie Brownson, who became the first woman to serve as a position coach during an NFL game, is Stefanski’s chief of staff and assistant receivers coach. Kathleen Wood is an area scout and Megan Rock is a player personnel coordinator in Berry’s front office.
Berry has been looking for front office help following the loss of vice president of football operations Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to the Vikings, who named him their general manager, but it is possible that Raiche will not be a direct replacement for Adofo-Mensah the source said.
Raiche also interviewed with the Vikings for their GM opening. She is highly regarded around the league and is on track to become the NFL’s first female general manager.
Prior to joining the Eagles, Raiche worked for the Montreal Alouettes as coordinator of football administration and then assistant general manager. She also served as the director of football administration for Toronto Argonauts and worked for the Tampa Bay Vipers of the XFL.
In 2015, Raiche made a career change to football after working for a Montreal law firm.
