CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns re-signed kicker Chase McLaughlin Tuesday.
McLaughlin, who served as their primary kicker last season, was perfect from beyond 50 yards – making all four attempts, including a 57-yard field goal – and inside 40 yards going 7-7 in 2021.
McLaughlin was just 4-10 between 40-49 yards.
The 2019 undrafted free agent made 36 of 37 PATs last season and registered touchbacks on 44.9% of his kickoffs.
For his career, McLaughlin is 37 of 49 kicking field goals and 67 of 69 on PATs.
The Browns’ special teams unit struggled and underperformed in 2021 and this offseason EVP/GM Andrew Berry has made it a point to improve the roster.
On Monday, Cleveland signed punter Corey Bojorquez and last month the team signed Pro Bowl returner/receiver Jakeem Grant Sr.
